I.T.S. is equipped with a number of fully digital creep and rupture frames capable of static loads up to 18,000 lbs force at temperatures ranging from sub ambient to 1800°F (982°C).
Originally designed for creep and stress rupture testing in accordance with ASTM E139 and E292 and similar international standards, I.T.S. has retrofitted several of the units to perform stress relaxation, creep crack growth rate, and cyclic stress testing.
The testing can be done in air or a vessel [retort] can be added enabling inert environments to be achieved as well. I.T.S. at one time assembled a couple of these frames to perform testing in super heat steam in an effort to simulate the real world environment in a steam turbine.
