I.T.S has the capabilities to perform Low and High Cycle Fatigue Testing.
Why Perform a Fatigue Test?
In many applications materials are subjected to oscillating forces. Materials behave different under these conditions compared to a static load. Because of this, engineers are faced predicting the fatigue life of the material. Fatigue life can be defined as the total number of cycles to failure under specified loading conditions.
How to Perform a Fatigue Test?
Fatigue testing is typically performed using electro-hydraulic testing machines. I.T.S has digitally controlled closed-loop MTS Servo-Hydraulic Test Frames. Our frames are outfitted with state of the art fixturing and data acquisition system. We are capable of testing materials at temperature up to 2200°F (1205°C).

Low Cycle Fatigue
Low Cycle Fatigue (LCF) is typically testing the material at low frequency, and large loads/strains. Stress levels are usually above the yield strength of the material.
High Cycle Fatigue
High Cycle Fatigue (HCF) achieves a large number of cycles a second. Stress levels are below the yield strength of the material.
